A Good Question

Pedro and me were walking by one of the streets of our neighbourhood when in a corner I see two teenagers who made me feel fear. Their expressions were aggressive and one of them had a metal bar in his right hand. Had I seen them before, I would have changed our direction, but Pedro and me were just there, in an empty street, at 10 metres from these guys. I watched them both intently and went on walking. Half a block ahead a very old man was slowly walking--probably taking his daily walk prescribed by his doctor.

In a fraction of a second my thoughts went from protecting Pedro to protecting the man, from 'they are stronger' to 'I cannot let them hurt either.' Finally I opted to continue walking, faster, and I whispered to Pedro, "please walk faster."

One of the two said to the other in a strong voice, "What about hitting this old man with the bar?"

I was there, without knowing what to do, feeling useless and desperate.

Finally the three of them turned left and I kept walking with Pedro. I quite convinced myself that nothing was going to happen to the old man and kept on walking.

Pedro asked me what had happened, because he didn't get the reason for my hurry and for pressing his hand so hard. I told him what happened and he said, "I wonder how come people become bad, how evil gets into their bodies... because the spirits are good... so I don't understand how evil gets inside them."

I found this question really good. As usual my answer was not half as good as his question. I attempted a social explanation... that some had a hard childhood, with bad parents and much suffering... but ended saying that some people who have a hard childhood become great human beings.

Pedro immediately added, "Because they want to be different than their parents!"

So, one more question from Pedro that goes unanswered and one more question that makes me think and learn too.

Is it Pedro Aznar you wrote about?
How do you know Pedro? I became a fan through his work with Pat Metheny. I always wondered who was the voice on some of the songs. Such a distinctive and beautiful voice. Very passionate. I hope to see him perform live one day in the New York area. If you are friends or couple, what is he like?

Thanks...Cheryl

Oh Cheryl,

First of all, welcome to my blog.

The Pedro I mention in 80% of my posts is my son, aged 8 at the moment.

I placed some videos of Pedro Aznar because I'm a big fan of his work but I don't know him personally. If you have the chance to see him live, don't miss the opportunity. I saw him twice, years ago, and I found the experience much better than listening to him in records. He has a special energy that makes his concerts a special trip.

I was excited because he was going to play in my city in December but at the last minute the concert was cancelled by the organizers. Now I'm crossing my fingers for him to play in March, as they told me.

I'm a great fan of Pat Metheny too. There is no rainy sunday when I don't play "New Chautauqua," one of Pat Metheny's oldest albums.

Thanks again for stopping by and I hope you forgive me for not having made clear who was Pedro in my post. You know... as I've mentioned him earlier I even forgot someone could wonder who he was! Shame on me.

Much abundance to you,
Patricia

Cheryl,

I recommend you to check Pedro Aznar's Myspace profile. You have some of his music there and that's a place where you can have updated info. about his concerts.

I cross my fingers for him to play in NY super soon!

Hey Albana,

I passed through that street they took half an hour later and there was no dead man in the street, so I guess he got home safe. But geez, Montevideo certainly isn't the "safe city" we used to live in.

Pedro started practising Karate and I'm considering it too.

We should retake those groupal meditations visualizing a safe city! That could be a good project to promote at the City Hall, what do you think?

And be sure I'll include my safety good feelings in my daily meditations from now on. Today, again! I had a not very nice encounter with another man in the street. Why am I attracting this? I'll change my vibrations in this regard immediately and attract only loving, caring people around me.

May this post have attracted more trouble because of focusing on this?

Just by writing it, I focused on the event for at least 15 minutes. Then you focused on that too and put your own fears and energy to it. Then today I bumped into another crazy one... Better to stop this right now! and retake good-feeling as we write!!!! The Law of Attraction never stops working! We have to remember that.

Wait for my positive post on our city... it's coming!

Pregunta: ¿por qué vos y yo estamos hablando en inglésssssssss? Dios!!!!! recién me doy cuenta y no me da para rescribir todo esto. Locas!!!!

Don't you love the wisdom of boys? My son is almost 14. Eight is such a great age, they are still so full of wonder. I think my heart would have been in my throat in that situation. Children make us so brave. I write about my son at my other blog A Week In the Life Of A Redhead, but am actually here because your blog lines up with a project I have going on 8 Women Dream. I came here to see what you had to say about the Laws of Attraction ... and look ... the man did not get hurt. Great story.
